About me
I’ve been leading the design, prototyping and development of products for 20 years. Three principles have been ever-present in that time: to do the best for our users, to do the best for my teams, and to learn constantly.
As an unabashed advocate for user-centred design, I enjoy all aspects of UX craft, especially prototyping for software and hardware platforms.
I accept the responsibilities of leadership with humility and honour. I use an approach I call lowercase leadership to engender enthusiasm for design in my teams and encourage colleagues to learn more about design thinking. As a manager, I focus on feedback, process improvement, and motivation so that my staff can do their best work.
I’m fortunate to have been a member of several award-winning teams whose accomplishments include two Emmys and 15 hackathon prizes (including five “Best of Show” awards). I’ve contributed to eight patents related to the design of media technology.
Also, I'm an experienced speaker and facilitator, having led workshops on topics such as design sprints, design thinking and brainstorming. As a volunteer of the educational non-profit Toastmasters International, I’ve delivered seminars on design, leadership, and speechcraft. In 2017 I was recognised as Toastmaster of the Year for my service to the organization.
I’m looking for an opportunity to grow as a design leader whilst making an impact for a growing design-driven company.
